I'm a heritage professional and project manager, I am often available to take on freelance projects. I am a public and oral historian by training, and I work across Ireland and the UK.
I have a proven track record of successfully developing, delivering, and supervising heritage projects in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Especially projects supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. From community groups to national bodies, I have worked across the sector to deliver successful projects of local and national significance.
Having worked as a freelancer and developed strong relationships across the sector in 2024 I began co-ordinating this work under the tradename of (Un)common Heritage. Current services I can offer include project development and management, strategic review, heritage consultancy, engagement development and delivery, and oral history training.

I graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 2021 with an MA in Public History awarded with distinction. Over the least five years I have worked on, and led, numerous heritage projects in Belfast and around Northern Ireland / the North of Ireland. Mostly recently, in an employed capacity, I oversaw the development and implementation of heritage engagement through the Templemore Baths Heritage Centre for EastSide Partnership, a regenerative, place-based charity located in East Belfast. I am currently the Oral History Society's Regional Advisor for Northern Ireland and have recently been appointed to become an accredited British Library National Life Stories/Oral History Society trainer.
I have previous delivered contracts for the British Red Cross, Ionad na Fuiseoige, and Mid Ulster Council. I have previously worked with Queen's University Belfast, the DfC Historic Environment Division, National Museums Northern Ireland and the British Library, and Armagh County Museum amongst others.
My work is especially place-based and community driven. I engage with contested histories and contentious topics, but is fundamentally participatory and collaborative. I firmly believe in the fundamental importance of community to deliver progressive, future-focused heritage work. Methodologically, my work draws on microhistory, oral history, and the emerging field of vernacular history but my practise is participatory.
I work with communities to deliver projects, keeping participants at the core of those efforts.
Moreover, I have experience in the design and implementation of creative heritage programming and event management, videography and sound design, curatorship, and collections management and care.
I may be available for project work or consultancy, and I am always available to discuss your project.
In the Central West of NSW one small village could claim to have the greatest rugby league team west of Sydney but you wouldn't know it today. I am developing a small, personal project looking at the role and legacy of post-memory and importance of place and sport to small rural communities. I am currently seeking funding and participants.
I developed and led the oral history project Our Stories — Our Times for the British Red Cross in Northern Ireland. As of 2024 the project represented the largest oral history project undertaken by the British Red Cross. The project was made possible by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
I managed the heritage project, Scéaltaí a' tsraid, for Ionad na Fuiseoige, a bunscoil and Irish language centre in West Belfast. The project included recording a collection of oral histories to mark the 50th anniversary of Twinbrook Estate and delivery of a heritage trail, series of educational resources, and working closely with local youth groups.
